Elizabeth Mansfield

After a period as a solicitor in a major criminal defence firm, during which time she worked on HML v The Queen;
SB v The Queen; OAE v The Queen

and appeared as junior counsel in R v Minter & Heyward,  Elizabeth was called to the bar in 2010.

Since that time she has gained significant experience as counsel in a broad range of criminal matters including driving offences causing serious harm and death, sexual offences, serious drug offences, complex fraud matters, criminal neglect and homicide.

She was junior counsel in the trial of Pfennig v The Queen (the disappearance of Louise Bell)  and appeared as lead counsel in Alzuain and Ors. v The King.

She has also regularly appeared as counsel in trials of sexual offences involving multiple complainants and/or defendants with special needs.

Elizabeth also maintains an interest in coronial and professional disciplinary matters.

Elizabeth served for a period as an ordinary member of the Council of the South Australian Bar Association and has participated as a coach in the Australian Bar Association’s Bar Readers’ Advocacy programmes.
